CCNA Workshop
This course has been designed to provide CCNA candidates with additional ‘hands on’ experience prior to sitting the current CCNA examination. The majority of the two days is spent physically connecting Cisco Routers and Switches and configuring those devices to provide both LAN and WAN services.
Prerequisites
A basic knowledge of TCP/IP and completion of Cisco Networking or Cisco’s ICND Course.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this class, participants will be able to:
- Interconnect Hubs, Switches and Routers.
- Configure Cisco Catalyst switches for end user services.
- Subdivide the network into Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).
- Choose and configure an appropriate Routing Protocol to provide Routing Services.
- Configure Access Control Lists to manage Traffic Flows.
- Connect and configure Point-to-Point connections.
- Configure a Router for Frame-Relay operation.
- Provide ISDN Basic Rate connections with Static Routes and Floating Static Routes.
Who Should Attend
Network Support Engineers, Network technicians, Administrators, Technical Managers and Support Staff who need to consolidate their configuration skills using Cisco products prior to sitting the current CCNA examination.
Course Outline
- Physically connect the appropriate network devices, from a given a Network Topology.
- Determine an appropriate IP Addressing scheme from a given Network Topology.
- Configure Cisco Routers and Switches according to the Network Topology.
Verify and if necessary troubleshoot the Network.
- Fully test the Network to the satisfaction of your instructor.
This course is a follow-on to the Cisco Networking Course or Cisco’s ICND Course. Key learning points from each practical session will be highlighted and discussed throughout and a discussion session will follow each practical session. Delegates will work as a team and be encouraged to collectively determine individual responsibilities.
