INTRODUCTION TO ISDN AND DASS2
This course has been designed to provide delegates with a basic theoretical knowledge of ISDN and DASS2 access signalling protocols. First the course provides an overview of a Telephone Network and the differing access protocols used, how the voice is converted to a digital 64kbit digital signal. ISDN is then discussed using the ISDN Protocol Model, examining each layer and the protocols used.
Prerequisites
A basic understanding of the Telephone Network .
Learning Objectives
At the end of this class, participants will be able to:
- Fully understand the reason for the differing Protocols used in the Telephone Network and where ISDN fits in the Network.
- Know the difference between Primary Rate and Basic Rate. Understand the Physical Layer configurations for ISDN.
- Understand the Layer 2 protocols used by both Basic and Primary Rate ISDN.
- Understand the Layer 3 protocols used by both Basic and Primary Rate ISDN.
- Know the difference between ISDN and DASS2 Signalling Protocols.
- Understand both Layer 2 and 3 Protocols for DASS2 Signalling.
Who Should Attend
Network technicians, Technical Managers and Support Staff who need an Understanding of ISDN and DASS2.
